Volans-i provides fast on-demand aerial delivery service for time-critical shipments over long ranges. We build and operate long-range, high-payload drones for commercial, defense, and humanitarian applications. Leveraging drone technology as a transportation method, we help our customers gain control of their supply chain and save millions of dollars on downtime and inventory costs.
Our work came from the immediate need for critical delivery of parts to drastically reduce downtime for an automotive company. From this idea, our founders have scaled the company into a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals to serve critical delivery markets.
We are looking for Purchasing and Inventory specialist candidates who are highly organized, motivated, and self-directed individual.  If you're passionate about driving business results and have manufacturing inventory planning and purchasing experience, this could be the perfect position for you. This is a highly visible supply chain role. A proactive and collaborative approach with all stakeholders in the supply chain - including vendors, engineers, production, product and finance teams, is critical to success in this role.
What you will do:
+ Update existing purchase order information such as unit cost, quantity and shipping details on an as-needed basis to ensure ERP system accuracy.
+ Create purchase orders from requisitions, ensure functional departments and accounts are correctly recorded with cost including taxes, freight, etc
+ Ensure Procurement to Payment (P2P), and approval processes are followed and high quality purchase transactions are executed.
+  Oversee the receiving process for all products at the location. Ensure receipts of goods and services, and perform matching with purchase orders.
+ Process improvement and internal auditing around accurate inventory receiving, returns processing and PO/invoice pricing accuracy including root cause analysis.
+ Facilitates problem-solving and vendor communication to ensure on-time delivery of all purchase orders. Understand and react appropriately to any pre-production or production challenges.
+ Identify and manage surplus and obsolete inventory. Effectively manage end-of-lifecycle and obsolete inventory while maximizing profit.
+ Run the bi-annual fiscal inventory for the location.
+ Monitor SKU assortment and recommend SKU rationalization initiatives. Maintain proper labelling and use of barcodes for inventory and finished goods.
+ Partner closely with Engineers on Bill of Materials (BOM). Maintain a working knowledge of all products manufactured in store and how they are assembled.
+ Collaborate with Finance on Invoice payments and Financial reporting of Inventory, Finished goods and Cost of Goods sold
+ Experience with off-the-shelf Inventory software (E.g. SoS Inventory, Fishbowl, Acctivate).
+ Mastery of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contribution.
+ Tech-savvy with strong emphasis on procurement and inventory management procedures.
+ Solid business acumen and strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen focus on detail and accuracy.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with positive, customer-orientation combined with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, deadline-driven and rapidly changing environment.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and team-building skills.
+       Experience working in the drone technology space or aircraft assembly/manufacturing
+       Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Operations experience
