AI tools and cloud video for endoscopy (Techstars '17)
Senior Software Engineer
$110k – $150k • 0.25% – 3.0%
Virgo (Techstars '17) is seeking a versatile senior software engineer to join our team. We're a San Francisco based digital health startup developing exciting new technology for the gastroenterology market.
Virgo provides a cloud-based video recording platform for colonoscopies.
Colonoscopy is the primary method for preventing and detecting colorectal cancer, and it is a video based procedure. However, there’s currently no convenient way to save or review procedure videos. Unfortunately, current systems are complicated, expensive, and record onto DVDs or external hard drives.
Virgo makes it easy for gastroenterologists to record and access their colonoscopy videos. We are rapidly becoming the largest source of high quality, labeled, colonoscopy video data — over 37,000 procedures recorded to date — and we are using this data to train machine learning systems on tasks ranging from automated procedure analysis to automated polyp classification and detection.
We are currently working with some of the top GI programs in the country, including Northwestern, University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, Rush University, and Indiana University.
Our founding team has a strong mix of backgrounds ranging from robotic surgical systems product management to electronic medical record implementation to consumer wifi security camera software engineering. We've got a lot of interesting and impactful problems to solve...come work with us!
