Founded in 2012, Vastari runs an online marketplace and suit of products to help museum professionals to source privately owned pieces for their forthcoming shows, list and exchange exhibitions with venues around the globe and connect with suppliers for shipping, insurance and ticketing.

Over the past 7 years, the company has built a unique data set, perfected a strategy to match content with venues and partners, and gained a reputation as the industry leader in facilitating exhibition collaborations through technology and data-driven matchmaking.

Aside from the platform, the Vastari team provides additional bespoke services under its consultancy arm. Using the data from the Vastari database, and the expertise of a global network of consultants, the team has helped facilitate more than 1,000 projects internationally.


The Role

Are you a data-driven individual looking to work in a dynamic and creative environment? Do you get excited about creating structure and systems to scale revenues? Are you a wizard at running tests and implementing tactics to increase efficiency and performance? Are you passionate about finding strategies that optimise return on investment?

Vastari is looking to hire a Commercial Director to join the team in London to work closely with the Vastari Board and Management Team to expand Vastari’s commercial income and maximise revenues.

The Commercial Director will be in charge of further developing and commercialising Vastari’s bespoke services and identifying premium clients within our pipeline. This will include building, growing and managing the team to deliver on the strategy as well as researching new stakeholders and customer segments to target.

The Commercial Director will also be analysing pipelines and sales techniques to optimise the growth of revenue streams from the Vastari technology products and to engage with all the major stakeholders and partners to identify new potential revenue sources.


Key responsibilities:

Reviewing the overall commercial strategy for Vastari’s products and services:

- Develop the company financial operating model alongside the management team
- Implement testing and tracking to monitor the company’s performance and adjust where necessary
- Explore the financial implications of new services, product lines and partnerships, to assess their viability and value prior to implementation

Developing Vastari’s services

Analyse existing customer segments:

- Develop a go-to-market strategy for Vastari’s services
- Build and train the team that can execute on the strategy
- Manage the team and ensure that revenue targets and KPIs are met

Optimising Vastari products’ revenues

- Work alongside the sales team to identify the customer segmentation and acquisition costs
- Work alongside the account management team to understand the key drivers for existing customers to renew
- Identify and secure key strategic partnerships to scale up growth for each target customer type and maximise value from each segment


Skills required:

- Analytical mindset and strategic thinking
- Solid track record of securing return on investment
- Solid track record in scaling revenues
- Outstanding communication skills and team management
- Experience in building financial models and manipulating data using Excel
- Previous experience in commercial operations and/or strategy is required
- Prior experience in scale-up, growth-stage companies is helpful
- Excellent stakeholder management
- Flexible approach to dynamic environments
- Ability to work independently and take charge of new initiatives
