# Overview

“Rapid prototyping.” “Design sprints.” “User centric.” We're sure you’re familiar with these terms. They’re supposed to help companies build things faster and better. The thing is: they don’t work if the user research process is too slow. We’re solving that problem. At User Interviews we're all about helping teams discover and embrace user insights. We believe this to be the secret sauce that helps companies go from good to great.

# Role

You’ll be joining the Growth team at User Interviews as part Product Designer, part Product Manager, and full-time Get-shit-done-er. It is an autonomous group focused on rapid experimentation and observable impact. Once an opportunity has been identified, you’ll be tasked with coming up with a variety of novel yet achievable solutions from end to end. Ideas > concepts > wireframes > mock-ups > build > measure.

You’ll be working closely with the VP of Product, VP of Growth, 2 engineers, and a growth marketer.

In the course of a typical week, you can expect to do the following:

• Wireframe a few new concepts
• Plan the next batch of work with the engineers
• Help QA and test features in development
• Review the metrics on recently launched features
• Facilitate a few research calls with our users
• Keep everyone in the loop on what’s happening

It is a lot of disciplines and skills, but you won’t be stretched thin. You’ll be 100% focused on growth objectives, one outcome at a time. The team will offer support on all of the above. You’ll never find yourself on an island. Yes, we’re kind of looking for a unicorn. 🦄

# Ideal candidate

You’re a designer who loves product management. Or you’re a PM who spends their free time reading about UX and learning design tools. Or you’ve built your own product and had to do the work to grow and market it yourself, whether or not you thought of that as growth or marketing. Or you’re not sure what you call yourself but you’re a self starter who has maybe launched a handful of side projects.

# Experience / skills

• 3+ years working within Product and Dev teams building web apps
• Working knowledge and general understanding of CSS
• Firsthand experience working directly with engineers to build and ship features
• Experience weighing effort vs. impact of features and making necessary tradeoffs
• Adept at modern design and prototyping tools, e.g. Figma, Sketch, Invision, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication – you’re able to clearly explain complex concepts and persuade people to your vision
• You put users first, e.g. you do not advocate ideas purely to drive metrics if they are detrimental to the user experience

Bonus points if...
• You have experience facilitating user research
• Have experience using Webflow
• Experience working within a Growth team
• Launched a side project

# Benefits

• Fully remote – work wherever you want (US compatible timezones preferred) and have flexibility on your schedule
• At least one full company retreat / off-site per year
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• $200/mo wellness stipend to spend on whatever you want!

# About us

User Interviews is an equal opportunity employer. We believe diversity of backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences to be critical to our success and are passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive, and collaborative environment for all employees. All are encouraged to apply as we continue to grow a smart, hard-working, and diverse team who love working together to build something that matters.

We’re a remote team that is on a mission to help other teams discover and embrace user insights. We are proactive about staying close to one another despite not sharing the same physical space. Remote culture is real and we care about it – a lot.

We care a lot about feedback. From our users, of course. But also from each other. We hold company wide retros every month to make sure we’re always improving and everyone has a place to voice their feedback.

We’re a little weird? We’re fun? We’re empathetic? Don’t worry about it too much, there will be plenty of time to get to know us as we get to know you.

PS: If you were referred by someone please let us know when you apply! We look forward to meeting you.
