Solution Stack for Service Businesses

Senior Vue.Js Developer

£40k – £65k
Apply now
We are putting together a frontend development team of crack javascript developers, led by our experienced Director of UX. We are after at least two competent, experienced and technical javascript developers to join our fun, hard-working team. We can accommodate a range of experience, but are ideally after one senior and one junior developer. All applicants should have decent knowledge of a framework such as React, Angular or Vue - however we are set on using the latter and you must be willing to immerse yourself in it, if you are not already.

You will be based either in our Coworking office at Paddington (WeWork), or our Coworking space in Sofia (Betahaus). We can be flexible with home-working, but some office-based work is essential for this collaborative project.

Our Stack

Upmind is an API-first SAAS application, which means our backend handles all logic and exposes a RESTful API. This backend is built on modern cloud technology (largely AWS, though some Google - Firebase & Compute - also). As we develop further, we are microservicing components in such a way that we may be able to offer them as standalone products in the future.

The backend also makes use of Laravel and NodeJS. We use a combination of SNS and RabbitMQ for messaging, and MySQL/Firestore/DynamoDB for databases. These stack choices are fluid and subject to challenge from any member of staff – for example, if a new product offering from a cloud provider were to emerge. We encourage everyone to speak up and have a say; we only want to hire people who bring something extra to the team.

At Upmind we are great advocates for open source technology, and a substantial portion of our software will be released under GNU GPL3.

Our frontend is built out as a single page application (SPA) atop the Vue JS framework – utilising a number of Vue's core libraries including VueRouter and VueX. Coupled with Bulma, a modern and responsive CSS framework, our primary focus is to deliver a clean, friendly and performant customer experience.

Joining this team you will have the opportunity to work with some of the latest (and most exciting) frontend technologies, be part of a truly agile workforce and impact the way we work by collectively reviewing and improving processes.
