The problem:

America is going through a housing affordability crisis, where access to ownership is increasingly out of reach. 33% of Americans are renting, and 25% of those that are renting spend over half of their income on rent. As a direct result, nearly 75% of Americans have less than $1,000 in savings. These numbers are projected to only get worse for future generations, as student debt and the cost of living continue to balloon.

Up&Up offers a way for renters to access the financial benefits of ownership while they pay rent, providing a new, accessible modality for wealth creation. As the first program to give renters access to home price appreciation and cash flow on rental income, Up&Up allows renters to access the financial benefits of ownership with the flexibility of renting.

We're an NYC-based team of former investment and technology professionals and are well-funded from top venture capitalists (Khosla, Kairos) and strategic angels from Opendoor, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, and Millennium. We're looking for talented, hard-working, and passionate team members to help us make the benefits of ownership accessible to all.

The role:

Your role as a Business Operations Associate will be to expand the capacity and efficiency of our growth and real estate teams. We are looking for an all-star problem solver who can think about process, tools, and analytics to empower our organization as we scale.

As a founding member of the business operations team, you will focus on creating the infrastructure to enable and manage performance across the organization—setting goals, tracking metrics, and helping create new tools and processes to execute at scale. You’ll work closely with Growth, Product, and Real Estate, Data vertical leads to ensure we deliver a world-class customer experience and making decisions informed by the best information available.

Your work will include:
* Providing actionable insights and recommendations for improving the effectiveness of operating processes in-flight

* Working closely with the Growth, Product, and Real Estate teams to design, run, and analyze experiments across all stages of the customer journey

* Partnering with our Product team to build growth products that maximize business impact

* Diving into our analytics data — setup metrics, generate reports and create actionable insights

* Distilling complex concepts into simple educational content for our customers

* Solving problems from first principles — structure issues, prioritize what is most important, and develop creative solutions

Key candidate attributes

* Excited about creating more equitable housing and helping our customers build wealth while renting

* Experience working in growth/sales funnel analytics

* BA/BS degree in business or quantitative fields, or equivalent work experience

* 2-4 years of work experience in a consulting, finance or technology – ideally in a growth stage environment

* Analytical mindset – and skill-set – with demonstrated ability to work through complex, ambiguous problems with no clear answer

* Advanced excel/sheets experience (ideally familiar with SQL), (e.g., able to put a growth forecast together based on drivers of the business)

* Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
