  • You are a creative engineer and developer, able to see multiple sides of a problem, and to work with your team to implement solutions that take into account success and failure states, good and bad actors, and account for the substantial growth that Twilio keeps on experiencing.
  • You like to think at scale and design, build and operate production [micro]services that meet systemic goals of high availability, low latency, resiliency and quality in a cloud environment.
  • You appreciate the value of DevOps practices and strive for reliability, speed, and quality from development to staging to production.
  • You bring knowledge and standard methodologies to your command of engineering in programming paradigms such as imperative and declarative and in languages like Java, Scala, and Python; JavaScript, PHP and Full-stack, back-end, and front-end folks are welcome to apply (and welcome to learn and grow with us at Twilio).
  • Even better, you understand designing for data integrity and secure data management.
  • Interest in and/or experience with communications, multi-user and telephony systems is a plus.

Specific skills required:

  • Demonstrated ability working as a software developer in high complexity projects.
  • Conversational command of English.
  • demonstrated ability building enterprise products with Java SE & Java EE.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Dropwizard, Spring, or similar frameworks.
  • 2+ years of experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
  • Experience working with Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, or similar data pipeline systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
