TV Time is a data insights startup that helps power the media and entertainment industry. Our platform helps companies determine how to package, market, and value TV shows & movies in this new world of cross-platform, cross-device, time-shifted, global viewership.

The heart of our unique solution is our consumer product, TV Time, a mobile- and web-based TV Guide for the streaming era. It allows users to discover content, find out where to watch it, get notified when it’s available, track when they’ve seen it, and interact with other fans. Our 12 million global users have tracked over 14 billion episodes of television and hundreds of millions of movies, which amounts to a massive trove of valuable 1st-party data.

We're not your typical startup. We've built a B2C product millions love and a B2B platform leveraged by some of the industry's largest players. We have a management team that's run multiple billion-dollar companies. And we're still only 45 people. Want to be the next on board?

We are in the process of building an extraordinary data team tasked with transforming our product-focused data into analytics products. We are looking for outstanding data engineers who love to play with innovative technologies yet still deliver reliable and efficient systems.

- Build and maintain event streaming systems that transform and enrich data from our various consumer-facing products to our data warehouse.

- Design and implement systems that serve up our ML algorithms. Examples of such processes include recommendation engines, sentiment analysis, scraping from external data sources, etc.

- Work closely with platform engineers and the data teams to ensure proper treatment of data throughout the entire data flow.

- Work with Kafka, Kubernetes, Spark, and other data processing systems.

- 4+ years in formal engineering environments

- 2+ years working on large-scale data projects

- Extensive experience with Spark and/or the Hadoop ecosystem

- Working knowledge of streaming platforms like Kafka

- Knowledge of ETL automation and scheduling systems, e.g., Airflow

- 3+ years of working in Python

- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or a related technical field

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
