Headcount accounts for 60% to 70% of a company’s total spend but processes to manage headcount remain stuck in Google Sheets and Excel spreadsheets. Specifically, TruePlan is a headcount management platform that brings all requests, approvals, and metric tracking into one central tool. TruePlan aims to eliminate archaic Google Sheets / Excel planning processes, remove manual headcount updates reporting, and provide visibility on headcount investments within the Company. Our mission is to provide control and visibility to the biggest cost bucket of a Company’s investment.

TruePlan is looking for a Business Development Representative to join our fast growing sales team. You will empowered with high responsibility for growing revenue, generating new leads, helping further define our early go-to-market motion, and supporting key decisions in supporting our sales growth. Our team is small and nimble - flexible with work life balance while giving the opportunity to grow your skills outside of sales (product, customer success, implementation, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding new potential sales outlets
- Utilize CRM, cold calling, and email to generate new sales opportunities
- Evangelize TruePlan as a trust resource while developing relationships with prospective customers
- Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and sales executives
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales team for next steps
- Identify best practices to refine the company’s lead generation playbook
Requirements
- 1-2 years of sales experience, with a history of exceeding lead targets
- Strong communication skills via phone and email
- Comfortable in a fast paced startup environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Appreciation for the challenges faced by an early stage startup and willingness to tackle those on a daily basis
- Proficiency with HubSpot or other CRM software (a plus)
