Head of Communications and Marketing

In this role, you are tasked to lead and oversee all external communications and branding for The Good Party, ensuring our message is consistent and engaging with our core target base of Millennials/Digital Natives. The Head of Communications and Marketing will work closely with the founding team to set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, social media, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate The Good Party’s mission.


Specific Tasks:
• Research and discover the right voice to reach our audience of digital natives and independent voters.
• Manage our voice through our brand identity, and ensure that it is coordinated across all communications.
• Create engaging copy that communicates our values and energizes users on all Good Party platforms (Website and Mobile)
• Manage and grow social media presence by creating amazing posts that move people to act
• Monitor media and communications efficacy with latest measurement tools and reporting.
• Write and managing press releases and announcements
• Work with the design team on crafting marketing materials to be used on various channels and for research purposes


Skills:
• Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
• Strong data driven media research and testing skills skills
• Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies
• A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
• Comfortable managing all major social media channels
• Public speaking experience
• High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels
• Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including founders, employees, volunteers and various third party support groups
• Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives


Education/Experience:
• 5+ years of growing success in the communications
• Demonstrated success in communicating and growing new, innovative ideas or products
• Startup experience a plus; ambitious failures are a plus as well!
• Bachelor’s degree of Master's degree from a top school a plus
• Civic/Government experience a plus
