Who We Are

The Outdoor Journal is an international outdoor sports and adventure travel magazine, with true stories from adventurers and travellers all over the world. It is a website, with news from unreported regions and stories not told. It is videos, of adventures, and expeditions to places that still have room for first descents and ascents. It is events, bringing together communities of enthusiasts and believers. It is soon a reviews platform, enabling travellers to make better decisions about their next adventure.

Our mission is to provide readers, without compromise, the highest quality multimedia content from the world of outdoor sports, fitness, alternative pursuits, travel, nature and wilderness.

Building a career with us will mean working hard to achieve this mission. We have a talented and diverse team that genuinely believe in the product and company. A company and team that is growing and currently seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented intern to report both to the Junior Editor and Deputy Editor.

It's important to note that whilst we are an Outdoor Adventure Company, and every one of us loves the outdoors, this is still a job, and as such there is the need to sit behind a computer and work hard.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Produce written content, both repurposing existing content print content for digital and conceptualising your own, from ideas through to content distribution.
- Contribute to the day-to-day running and strategy of different forms of editorial content, ensuring consistency and efficacy of the magazine in all its channels – online (video, images, blog, social media and more), on tablet and in print.

Key Competencies

- Must be highly organized, systematic, proactive, flexible, dedicated, and able to work well alone or in group situations on multiple simultaneous projects.
- Intellectually engaged in content and outdoor adventure sport culture; sensitive and thoughtful about text, images, and design/materials; independent, creative, pragmatic, hands-on, and detail-oriented.
- Proficient or comfortable with technology.

Basic Requirements

- This is an entry level role, but a journalism education and interest in at least one facet of the outdoors industry is preferred.
- The Outdoor Journal has offices in Luxembourg, Delhi (HQ) and Colorado, but our team is spread out around the world, from Stockholm, London, LA and Washington. We embrace a modern way of working, but that means that we require someone who is a self starter, ready and enthusiastic about working hard.
