Back End Software Engineer

Teknikio is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and creative software engineer with experience in Dev Ops. Teknikio creates educational engineering kits for future inventors. We are passionate about engaging girls and boys in STEM without creating gender barriers. You will work with a front-end dev and senior software enginner on the development of an IoT programming platform, incorporating feedback and design constraints for the K-12 classroom environment.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. The candidate may be remote for the first 6 months. Preference given to women applicants. Must have a BS in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience working in a related field.

EXPERIENCE

• Skilled in JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, JQuery, Node.Js, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3 and cross browser development
• Docker, AWS, and database mangement
• Experience developing Web Services
• REST services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience deploying to multiple environments, version control
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks, strategies, and best practices
• Familiarity with BLE or IoT development
• Experience interfacing Hardware and Software

Additionally, we are interested in candidates that have some amount of experience with:

• Learning design or Ed-tech
• Android development (React Native)
• iOs or MacOS Application development
• Internet of things/connected devices
