Vice President of People Operations

The VP People for Techstars will act as a member of the executive team and will be a driver and visionary for the culture and people of the organization. They will lead the charge in fostering a culture at Techstars that represents our values.

They will:
- Collaborate with the executive team to craft the company’s vision and mission
- Develop strategic People Ops plans and policies (recruitment, training, compensation etc.)
- Hire, guide and evaluate the work of People Ops team members, including the learning and development, business partner, HR Operations and talent acquisition functions
- Decide and act on initiatives for equal opportunity, diversity etc.
- Assume responsibility of labor and employee relations
- Ensure all procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices
- Analyze the effectiveness of People Ops operations, processes and policies
- Assist and advise our portfolio on People Ops-related issues, where possible
- Keep in sync with CEO on people-related issues and act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and other executives

Qualifications:
- Experience in an entrepreneurial environment
- Proven experience as VP of People Ops or other senior People Ops role, ideally at a scale ranging from 200 to 500+ employees.
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Deep knowledge of People Ops functions (talent management, recruitment etc.)
- Ability to use metrics and analytics
- Knowledge of local and international labor law
- Working knowledge of Google Suite products
- Strong communication skills
- Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities
- Broad range of capabilities that include being a strategic leader and an executor that can communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholders
- Superior management skills with the ability to train, influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
- Experience in global HR
- Fits the Techstars culture (people-oriented, adaptable, creative)
- Strong work ethic and initiative with a very positive attitude
- Ability to represent Techstars at conferences and events
- Certification (e.g. PHR/SPHR) is nice-to-have
- Good sense of humor, ability to adapt to change, no job too small attitude
