The Application Development Manager will drive the company’s IT strategy to accommodate our dynamic, growing business. This entails both effectively managing day-to-day operations (applications and infrastructure) through a small IT team including service providers, and as well as overseeing project initiatives including an enterprise software implementation. The Manager of IT also has full accountability for business-critical, custom built applications currently in use.

Roles & Responsibilities:
1) Day to day oversight of the IT function, including:
o Liaising with our Managed Services provider on all IT security, network and infrastructure issues
o Manage various vendor relationships to ensure business needs and SLAs are met
o Rolling out system upgrades and new O365 functionalities and features as recommended by /or in conjunction with Managed Service provider.
o Overseeing the IT set-up of new hires and equipment return for employee departures
o Initial projects include implementing a multi-year security program as well as a tracking tool for change requests. Management of the IT budget

2) Oversight of SQL databases
o Performing and/or overseeing ongoing maintenance
o Assessing and prioritizing new development and change requests
o Recommending improvements to database structure
o Ensuring adequate documentation is in place
o Initial projects include review of database architecture and tackling enhancement requests from users and executives

3) IT support on projects, advising on best practices for integrating new technology. Provide research and recommendations on all IT initiatives. Current software in use across the company includes PowerBI, Alteryx, Great Plains, O365/SharePoint. Future state contemplates a company-wide conversion to Yardi.

4) Other duties as assigned, which could include assisting with:
o SharePoint maintenance and development
o Technology questions from users including occasional desk-side support/ trouble-shooting
o Corporate policy development with respect to IT governance, security, and architecture
o Process improvements
o Design/test/implementation of new IT projects and initiatives

Qualifications & Education:
o Post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science
o Strong hands-on experience with VB.net, ASP.net, .net framework, SQL Server and SSRS
o A focus on customer service with a demonstrable ‘roll up your sleeves’/’can-do’ attitude
o Private equity, investment and/or real estate experience
o Strong project management, business analysis and organizational skills
o Minimum 8+ of relevant work experience
o Strong leadership aptitude, with 1-3 years in a leadership role preferred
