We are building a platform for metabolic engineering of moss. Initially we are using that platform to engineering Orbella Fragrant Moss but as a photosynthetic eukaryote there are many other potential applications. Transgenic moss can be used for producing pharmacuticals, inputs for novel food applications (eg specific proteins, lipids or carbohydrates), high value chemicals and other novel applications (eg bio-sensing).
Our first product is Orbella Fragrant Moss. Orbella Fragrant Moss is a line of home fragrances
cultivated in a glass terrarium. Using nature’s simplest ingredients — sunlight, CO2, and water — Orbella delivers a safer, cleaner, greener alternative to chemical-based air fresheners.
No solvents. No phthalates. No petroleum by-products.
Just fragrance made the natural way.
