We have an exciting career opportunity for a Mergers & Acquisitions Consultant in our Stamford, CT or Boston, MA offices. As part of our team you will work independently to help deliver effective targets and solutions to our partners. As a Mergers & Acquisitions Consultant, you will report directly to the CEO.
SYNERGY’s aim is to partner with later stage startups or large enterprises seeking to identify additional avenues of growth through internal innovation by mergers and acquisitions. In this case the M&A Consultant is instrumental in developing strategies to identify and evaluate acquisition candidates. Acquisition targets are determined by the firm's strategic goals, which are established by the CEO and COO. Based on SYNERGY’s current portfolio of technologies, the acquisition candidates may be competitors or firms that sell complementary products. The merger may be horizontal to expand into new geographic markets, or vertical to acquire additional product lines.
Your Impact As A Mergers & Acquisitions Consultant
Job Responsibilities
Utilize internal and external sources and databases for client and industry research
Communicate with internal stakeholders, acquisition targets or their representatives
Write due diligence reports, white papers, and newsletters
Work with and assist the executive team in establishing relationships, converting due diligence targets to ongoing clients, and developing opportunities
Be viewed as a thought leader (creative thinking and innovation); proven credibility (knowledge/trust) both externally as well as internally
Identify and Communicate the value that SYNERGY brings even to the most challenging problems companies are trying to solve in the verticals of Branding, Data, and Travel
Prepare proposals and make technology demo presentations to clients
Required Experience
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time - Ability to balance 3 potential acquisitions
Project management – coordinate activities and information flow from a group of people within specified time frame
Detail orientation, but ability to draw conclusions and see big picture
Communication (written and oral) – ability to communicate well with C level decision makers
Strong ability to develop relationships / build confidence of others (both internally and externally)
Financial – basic understanding of financial statements
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs
Preferred Experience
Background in Technology or Venture Capital
