Sr. Software Engineer, Ruby on Rails (Remote)

The Opportunity:

We are growing rapidly with thousands of customers and hundreds of thousands of managed devices; we’re looking for an experienced Senior Rails developer who is interested in helping us scale. We are in the middle of some exciting architecture changes along with leveling up our organization's efforts around TDD and observability. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working remotely, you will often coordinate with the teams that are responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to quality is required. We ship to production daily and use Scrum to coordinate work. Our team of engineers has a global, remote presence in diverse locations - the US, Canada, Eastern Europe, and Asia

What you'll be doing:

• Making our product even more awesome.
• Improving our codebase and infrastructure.
• Lots of building and inventing.
• Keeping us up to date with what you are learning.
• Bringing in new technology you discover that might solve a problem.
• Coming up with improvements to many areas that are still sort of minimum viable state.
• Lead major features. A recent example of a major feature - building a new remote backup module
• Work to scale our platform to support 10X growth

Who You Are:

• Extensive experience creating high-quality software in a team environment
• Comfortable working in an Agile software development environment
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work cross-functionally
• Passion for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Detail-oriented, professional and positive work attitude
• Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
• Experience leading many projects from start to finish
• Caring - putting yourself out there for a customer experiencing pain.
• Cooperative and creative problem-solver.
• You are located in, and authorized to work in, the US or Canada

Technical and Skills Qualifications:

• Experience building applications, designing interfaces, etc.
• 5+ years of Ruby on Rails experience
• Comfort working on monolith applications.
• No specific education necessary (really).
• Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills - verbal and electronic.
