Swayable is a media analytics platform that doubles the impact of advocacy campaigns and brand advertising by pre-testing how media content (video advertising, etc) influences public opinion. The company had an incredible first two years, launching in January 2018 out of Y Combinator and immediately getting to over $1 M revenues. Current clients include four major Democratic Party presidential candidates as well as major consumer brands. Swayable is a mission-driven Public Benefit Corporation.

Our aspiration is to disrupt the cozy oligopoly of multibillion-dollar analytics firms with our breakthrough tech, which already outperforms incumbent offerings by 10X or more. As we gear up for an expected strong year of continued growth in 2020, we are establishing a scalable team structure that will let us deliver our measurement solution to vastly more clients.

The goal of this position is to lead clients through the sales and delivery process to discover how our technology can best solve their needs and ensure we deliver on our promises.

Similar to a "sales engineer” or “solutions architect” role, the solutions scientist will be an honest broker and an expert on the product. They will establish trusted relationships with clients who will look to them for leadership on how the product works and how they can use it to increase the impact of their campaigns. They will work with the sales team to develop and convert leads, with the operations team to make sure that all technical setup is done perfectly, and with the data science team to help execute any custom analysis. Based on their insights and ideas, the solutions scientist will also contribute to product development, identifying new features and even wholly new products, testing hypotheses and learning about other offerings in the market.

Swayable’s technical credibility and creativity is central to its success and positioning in the market, so this role is a high priority for the team. It is intended to be a visible leadership role, with the successful candidate embodying the values and ambition of the company. There will be ample opportunities for advancement and development.

- Good ability to manage cross-functional work, make everyone feel heard, lead by example
- Inspires confidence in clients in solving analytic and technical problems. Actively sought-out by team members and clients alike for their good judgment and pro-active problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable with ambiguity and creating and communicating your own work plan, especially in a startup environment
- Passionate about the product discovery and building process, ideally with a working familiarity with design thinking and lean startup principles
- Ambitious about creating a billion-dollar company
- Candidates from minority and underrepresented backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply

- Experience in a client-facing role is required, such as sales or consulting, ideally at mid-level or above
- Strong statistical, mathematical, scientific, and/or economics background. A PhD will count as a plus, but not required
- Experience in experimental social science, especially survey-based quantitative methods is a plus
- Experience in digital marketing and/or media analytics (e.g. Qualtrics, Kantar, Nielsen, Chartbeat) is a plus
- Experience in a growing startup environment is a plus
- Familiarity with how brand marketing teams, agencies, content production teams and advocacy or political campaigns work is a plus

Swayable offers competitive compensation commensurate with the level of experience of its team members. Additionally, we offer benefits packages that are well above market: e.g. Swayable covers 100% of health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for full-time employees and dependents, as well as generous PTO and parental leave.
