Business Development Intern

$7k – $10k
Apply now
As the Business Development Intern, you will be a master relationship builder, and a classic closer. You know how to grind through the “sales conversion math” from industry events and cold calls through to meetings, demos and closes. You’ll be the face of Supports Health to both the healthcare community and the employer community, building relationships and sales in each of these core channels. You’re used to eating nails for breakfast, because you know what it takes to act with urgency every day, but weather 18 month sales cycles (for the larger customers, which you will be targeting from day 1).

What you’ll do:

• Fill the funnel: You’ll be responsible for working with the Marketing Associate to drive inbound leads, and acquiring your own leads through cold calling, industry networking events, tradeshow attendance and creative means as you see fit (if you don’t have a creative bone in your body, you can stop reading).
• Build the network: You’ll be responsible, along with the CEO, for representing Supports Health at all industry related events. The two worlds we play in most are the HR space and the mental health care space. You’ll be expected to develop a name and (positive) reputation in each by being active in online communities (e.g. LinkedIn) and present in physical thought leadership, and networking events. As the company and role evolves, you may be responsible for hosting such events and organizing such online communities in collaboration with the Marketing Associate and the CEO.
• Propose and close: As you generate sales meetings, you’ll be responsible for seeing prospects through from lead generation through to close. You’ll be expected to deeply know the industry landscape within 30 days, have 10 mid-late funnel prospects within 90 days, and have 1 sale closed before the end of your internship.
• Reporting and analysis: At Supports Health, we work hard, communicate openly, make decisions with facts AND feelings, and collaborate extensively. That means you need to track what you’re doing, share it with the team, ask for help when needed, and accept constructive analysis, feedback and criticism. And yes. This does mean a CRM.

How you’ll be measured:

• Leads in each stage of the funnel
• Conversion rates from each stage of the funnel
• Number of sales
• Revenue generated
