Finance and Operations Intern

As the Application and Content Delivery arm of Lumen Technologies, we build powerful solutions to deliver, secure and optimize the online experience. Our global content delivery network, programmable edge, multi-layer application security and video acquisition & processing technologies are designed to help the largest media companies, game developers, e-commerce sites and businesses across the globe to grow their businesses with differentiated online experiences. If you have browsed a website, streamed video, or played a video game in the past month, chances are you’ve used our services without even knowing it! Within the larger Lumen organization, the Application and Content Delivery team is made up of 200 professionals working across the world. R&D and marketing for our device-side delivery products is based in Paris, and we also work closely with teams in Los Angeles, Denver, New York, London, and Singapore. A truly global team!

Lumen is seeking a creative, high-energy and proactive Finance and Operations intern to help us perfect our financial planning and budgeting strategy, lead a variety of strategic analyses and contribute to high-value operational projects.

This is a hands-on experience on how finance, accounting and operations are conducted within a high- tech startup. This is an excellent stepping stone for students who aim to one day start their own business. You will acquire both deep financial understanding as well as gain day-to-day operational experience to see what it really means to manage a company.

In addition to managing our daily cash flow, creating KPI reports and performing financial analysis, you will be given immediate responsibility in helping us run our business. You’ll work closely with our HR & Office Ops manager, enjoying significant autonomy to expand our current financial strategy and build tools to help us optimize our actions. You will also have a fundamental role in the organization of our operations, planning our offsite, office events and finding new and inventive ways to engage our employees!

• Work directly with the VP level management to improve our reporting process to our parent

company.

• Improve/Develop some cost analysis tools and presentations to help the teams optimize their budget
• Collaborate with the management team to implement data-driven improvements and reporting processes, helping them develop and monitor departmental and company-wide KPIs.
• Improve/follow up our invoicing processes and tools and link them to our financial forecasts.
• Develop financial forecasting tools.
• Handle major company HR and Operations projects, contribute to the daily run of the office, organization of our annual offsite, trimestral events, and more.
• Contribute to the overall HR plan for 2022.

Requirements

• Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset
• Bachelor’s degree from a top ranked Business/Engineering school with an interest in finance, international business, and the media & telecommunication industry
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint & Google presentation, Microsoft Excel & Google Spreadsheet
• Autonomous, dynamic, and passionate about startups and technology
• Eye for quality and attention to detail, especially for reporting and analysis
• Bilingual proficiency in written English and overall excellent communication skills
