About the Role

Strava is the world’s largest athletic community. We’re looking to add someone to the Communications team who reflects the ambition, hustle and dedication to producing best-in-class results. You’ll report to the V.P. of Communications based in the U.S. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of media relations success with tech, business and national news outlets oriented towards driving app installs and subscriptions.

You are a strategic thinker, with an excellent understanding of business and technology environments. The ability to stay calm under pressure is vital. You should excel at project management and problem solving while working collaboratively with executives and other partners.

This position is based in San Francisco, California or Denver, Colorado.

What You’ll Do

Media relations focused on tech, business and national news outlets

Develop and execute strategy for press partnerships with universities and research organizations

Assist with internal communications

Managing executive thought leadership development

Agency project management

Crisis management

Research, write, edit communications materials

Manage success measurement

Plan and manage communications events & press trips

About You

Relationships with business, tech and national news reporters, editors and outlets

Experience with product press and thought leadership strategy and execution

7+ years of in-house or agency media relations and public relations experience

Experience creating internal and press communication materials working collaboratively with cross-functional groups including business, marketing, product and legal teams

Experience managing projects and thriving in a fast-paced culture that involves cross-functional coordination and collaboration globally

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with lifestyle, tech, business and sports-related communications

Experience working on internal communications

Experience driving thought leadership strategy working closely with executives
