We are looking for a passionate, self-driven Account Executive to join the Stellic team. As our Account Executive, you will use your consultative sales skills and creativity to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from the first contact until you close the deal. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a stable book of business: prospecting, cultivating and closing new accounts while growing existing customer relationships and helping Stellic hit growth and attainment targets. You will represent the Stellic brand with integrity and passion for improving education while maximizing revenue and producing value and brand awareness for current and prospective clients.

Our ideal candidate is smart, tenacious, personable and empathetic. You're a great communicator and are more than comfortable with building new relationships. You enjoy selling and have demonstrated success in exceeding sales quotas, as well as an understanding of the Higher Education market. You are well organized with efficient time and territory management skills. You want your work to be meaningful and make a difference in the world, especially within education.

What we do: Stellic is on a mission to empower students to get the most value out of their college journey and prepare them for success in their careers. Many believe that degree progression is straight-forward, but for most students, it’s a meandering and arduous process. As a result, graduation rates suffer - with less than 44% of students graduating within 6 years. Our degree progression platform finally solves one of the biggest pain points for college students and advisors: helping students plan their degrees, choose courses, and manage their academic journey.

Stellic is already working with incredible clients including Carnegie Mellon University, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Northwestern, and others. We believe better, personalized student experiences can yield successful outcomes for everyone - students, higher-ed institutions and employers. This role will be based in San Francisco and will report to the CEO.

What you'll do:
- Create detailed personal sales plans to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas.
- Drive the sales process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, negotiation, and close.
- Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long term partnerships.
- Maintain a strong understanding of assigned territory, education vertical and competitive offerings.
- Overcome customer objections by demonstrating negotiation skills and the ability to sell benefits not features.
- Build a pipeline through prospecting to support the busy season of our sales cycle which fluctuates with the school year.
- Respond to complaints and resolve issues, keeping customers content and preserving Stellic’s reputation.
- Negotiate agreements and keep current and accurate records of sales data in CRM system.
- Travel as directed to meet with clients, support trade shows and conferences, attend other meetings, or for personal staff development.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with Stellic’s personnel and clients.

You'll be successful if:
- You have 4+ yrs experience in software sales in a tech startup, ideally with a value prop for multiple audiences.
- You have a passion for education and customer success, as well as a deep interest in understanding client needs and an on-going commitment to excel.
- You have knowledge of market research, sales (lead generation, forecasting, pipeline management) and negotiating principles.
- You have superior written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational, and operational skills.
- You have a proven track record of exceeding the goals set for yourself and the team.
- You have a high learning velocity in new situations with the ability to work independently through cross-functional teams and drive new client development.
- You’re comfortable using technologies. Including PowerPoint for presentations, CRM for account management, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word), Sales Acceleration apps a plus.
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
