Community Manager and Outreach Specialist [Part-time/Intern]

As Starship’s Community Manager and Outreach Specialist, you’ll help build awareness for Starship while establishing the brand as a helpful and trusted resource. You will focus on supporting strategic marketing and content objectives. Key parts of your job will include: developing an ongoing outreach strategy and actively engaging with individuals on social media to support business goals.

More of your role:

• Part-time commitment (5-15 hours/week), in-person or remote, start date is as soon as possible
• Develop and own an ongoing outreach strategy (adapting based on feedback/results) for link building to promote our blog, website, and social content
• Engage with individuals/brands across relevant social media channels (with a focus on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Quora) to build social followings
• Conceptualize on how we can leverage online relationships to drive additional business impact (e.g. guest posts on our blog, cross-promotion on social media, etc.)
• Report on activity and results/learnings bi-weekly (every two weeks)
• NOTE: we have another individual focused on Pinterest, so you won’t be spending time on that channel

What we're looking for:

• Curious and data-driven individual that is excited building a community and positive online reputation for a scaling startup
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Can operate with a high-sense of autonomy, but has the awareness to understand when to ask questions (e.g. when answering a complex healthcare related question)
• Experience working with a healthcare/employee benefits company is a plus
• Experience working with a finance/investing product is a plus
• Experience working with a Marketing Director and/or Customer Experience Director is a plus
• A strong moral compass and commitment to Starship’s core values of inclusion, empowerment, and trust.
