NoSQL Administrator$80k – $110k
As a NoSQL Administrator, you must love the challenge of working in databases within an architecture in a highly distributed systems and virtual environment build on our own cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about automating deployment, configuration and analysis of our full-lifecycle environments. In this role you will be center to helping design database systems that enable fast paced development and deployments while achieving high availability. We are looking for candidates who can approach the modern cloud discipline in new and creative ways and who are open and passionate about exploring new technologies to improve our overall environment.
Management of multiple Cassandra clusters in test and Production environments, in multiple data centers.
Provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, and support of Cassandra.
Implement and maintain performance metrics, including capacity planning, measuring utilization, performance and health of the clusters.
Perform operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Cassandra environments.
Collaborate with development engineers to ensure a solid design that scales and conforms to standards.
Database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, database creation and role assignment.
Ensure data is protected within defined security standards.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
3+ years of Cassandra experience with expert understanding of NoSQL database.
5+ years of experience in related field.
Experience in Cassandra Data Modeling, configuration and administration.
Experience in monitoring, performance tuning, and managing multiple Cassandra clusters.
Knowledge of Spark, Kafka, and Elasticsearch desirable.
Experience in other NoSQL and RDMS database technologies.
Expert experience with at least one of the following languages: Perl, Python, Java, or bash.
Strong people skills, team orientation and a professional attitude.
Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
Ability to perform in a fast paced and dynamic business environment.
