Job Role:
We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including crafting WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a demonstrable understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is helpful.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop WordPress plugins, themes, and HTML5 applications.
2. Demonstrate the WordPress API and extend the WordPress admin experience.
3. Uncanny ability (and desire) to “dive in” to unfamiliar systems and learn on the fly
4. Plugin research and customization
5. Ability and willingness to work on a team using a unified/documented development and coding style
6. Integrating sliced PSD files into either Word Press or some other confirmed open source system (note: Word Press is our primary CMS platform); many of our builds are responsive
7. Strong understanding of WordPress back-end development.
8. Strong knowledge of WordPress custom theme creation.
9. Developing custom web applications that drive business processes
10. Setting up e-commerce applications and integrating shopping carts
11. Contributing to support of current client websites
12. Integrating feeds from social networks
13. Building out responsive layouts

Required skills:
1. Deep understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
2. Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
3. Experience crafting and developing responsive design websites
4. Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
5. Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
6. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
7. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
8. Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
9. Experience using CSS Pre-processors is a plus (Sass, Less or Stylus)
10. Experience using version control is a plus (Git or Subversion)
