We’re looking for an awesome Product Designer to join us at Songkick. We’re a design team that’s passionate about lowering the barrier for entry to live music. You’ll help us identify and solve meaningful problems for fans and artists worldwide, to make concert-going easier, fairer and more accessible.

This is a role with its roots in UX, less visual design. You’ll need a passion for well-defined, well-articulated user experience design, and the kind of solid intuition that comes from a few years in the field. You’ll be used to exploring multiple approaches to solving particular problems, and working with product teams to refine your ideas.

You’ll challenge & inspire us with your perception of what’s possible. You’ll design user experiences and interactions that feel fresh, yet keep a strong sense of what’s usable and pragmatic at heart. We want to work with someone who’s happiest being scrappy, and who’ll challenge the way we think about product design at Songkick.

You’ll have a solid background in interaction design, and be able to create the necessary artifacts to communicate what the user experience ought to be, whether that’s through prototypes, sketches, user personas or journey frameworks. You’ll know how best to communicate your ideas to help the team understand what we’re making.

We'll give you all the tools and support you need to experiment, play and test your hypotheses and ideas with a huge audience. This is product design on a global scale. You'll learn from and work with people across the music industry. At Songkick, we all own the products. We nurture them and take them from seedlings into (sometimes) enormous giants. We monitor them, regularly change them, and (most of all) enjoy seeing how fans and artists use them.

Requirements

- At least 2-3 years experience working in a Product or UX Design role in a lean/agile product team environment.
- A rock solid foundation of UX skills such as sketching, wireframing, prototyping, iterating and responding to feedback, and a portfolio to show it.
- Demonstrable experience in hypothesis-driven design, A/B testing, and defining cheap ways of learning and iterating
- Experience in user research and usability testing best practices, specifically in regards to user-centered design.
- A track record of initiating and leading design and discovery workshops that utilise a wider team and deliver tangible outcomes.
- A general understanding of how design impacts development along with a knack for constructing dynamic, interactive designs that are technically feasible.
- Big plus if you have a love of live music!

Key responsibilities

- Identify and lead on design problems from beginning to end, gathering insights from data and research to inform, create and test elegant solutions that solve our users’ needs.
- Lead on user research to identify, validate or enhance our understanding of user problems, and directly influence the product roadmap with what you’ve learned.
- Work closely with Product and Tech to ensure you’re designing for impact and feasibility, and to advocate for user needs at every step.
- Design with data, focus on metrics and ship, learn and iterate fast.
- Quickly build prototypes that show what’s possible, which we’ll test online quickly with millions of real users or in our in-house usability lab.
- Work across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, web) and markets (B2C, B2B, internal) to create cohesive product experiences.
- Collaborate with your fellow designers to improve the way we work together, to offer and receive productive feedback, and to tackle bigger design challenges as a collective.
- Advocate for lean UX principles - there won’t be any 800 page UX specifications here!
- Work with our product team to build the best experiences possible: whether that’s changing a design to adapt to technical constraints or suggesting a new feature that our users will love. There’s no ego on our team, and we want to keep it that way.
