We’re looking for a Head of People Operations to join our team. We need a builder who is passionate about simplicity and operational excellence. This critical new role will propose, develop, and implement HR infrastructure, people ops programs, people operating cadence, and compliance at its best. We need a leader who has experience building employee relations programs, recommending organizational design, building innovative performance management programs, analyzing compensation trends and recommending compensation strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and insisting on best in class HR practices. Being the world leader of defining and building employee experience programs is no small task. We have a lot of ground up work to do. You in?

* Build People Ops programs (merit, performance, compensation, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, workforce analytics, etc) that are sophisticated on the back end driven by the latest research and analytics yet beautifully simple for our leaders and teams to adopt
* Keep the People team organized and compliant! Design and deploy People Ops operating cadence including People Ops programs cadence and compliance and regulatory calendar for all states and countries that we operate within
* Strong focus on continuous improvement of our programs and investment in our people! We will challenge ourselves every day. We’re not going to create the world’s most amazing employee experience by settling for anything less than highly innovative people programs!
* Understand and appreciate cultural differences when building People Operations programs. We’re international where different countries have different norms. We want to ensure the employee programs are compliant and the employee experience is exceptional across the globe
* Engage as a strategic thought partner with the VP, People and the rest of the Sonder team exploring the People Ops needs of the company so we can build cutting edge programs
* Have a simple purpose and reason for every program. Define and commit to measurable results

* Self-starter who is excited to be part of a kick a$$ team building the most amazing employee experience in the world!
* Highly engaging and approachable expert with at least 7 years of experience building innovative and creative People Operations programs.
* Solid experience building People Operations programs for a widely distributed, national and international workforce.
* Fun sense of humor and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
