To build the next generation hospitality brand, we must ensure that regulations keep up with the pace of innovation. Our public policy team is responsible for working with policymakers and other stakeholders, developing and executing public campaigns to make the case for change. To do this effectively you must be able to build trust with a variety of stakeholders, ensure governments understand our model and engage them in the process of creating regulatory frameworks that support innovation in the industry. The ideal candidate will have broad experience with campaign management as well as involvement in state and local policymaking.

AT SONDER YOU WILL:
- Develop and implement Sonder’s legislative and public policy priorities, positions, and strategies, tailoring from market to market
- Craft public affairs campaigns around Sonder’s value proposition that appeal to elected officials and community stakeholders
- Work directly with policymakers, advising them on language for legislation and drafting comments on proposed regulations
- Maintain relationships with an extensive network of contacts in local and regional legislative, executive and administrative offices
- Represent Sonder in diverse coalitions of third-party stakeholders
- Monitor legislation and regulatory matters and advise the company with respect to policy challenges
- Manage external consultants to help execute our strategies

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- At least 5 years experience working on policy issues in a relevant business or organization, or in a governmental context
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing a legislative campaign in a quickly evolving industry
- Experience working across internal and external teams to deliver positive shift in public perception
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues
- Self-starter with a sense of humor and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
