**Who we are:**

Since 2011, Silicon Allee’s mission has been to unite, promote and advance Berlin’s international startup community. The team operates a 7,500 m2 startup campus with offices, apartments and a co-working cafe in addition to organizing events, producing news content and consulting fast-growth companies expanding to or launching from Berlin.

**The Role & Responsibilities:**

The main goal of this position will be to clearly promote all the newsworthy activity going on in the neighborhood and on campus to locals and the wider global tech community, through original content, social media posts and other creative marketing ideas. Your mission is to drive traffic to our events and content and build international awareness of our activities in Berlin and abroad.

The position will work closely with our community and team to communicate the latest news, events and programs happening in Silicon Allee. You will have the chance to meet regularly with founders, VCs and other players who we work closely with, and work on the content strategy together with our team.

Core duties:

- Work closely with Silicon Allee’s senior team to continuously optimize the existing online content and social media strategy
- Manage Silicon Allee social media accounts - including but not limited to - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
- Source and create compelling content and social media assets by producing photos, videos and interviewing interesting founders from the community
- Find and create opportunities for Silicon Allee and its related companies to be highlighted in high-quality international and national press
- Attend events and produce live content and written reviews
- Draft copy for online content and social media, including pre-and post-event communications and all event promotional materials
- Work hand-in-hand with our Events and Community team members to streamline communication about what is happening on campus and throughout our network in Berlin
- Share news and content from local and international partners
- Manage Silicon Allee website content
- Build campaigns around Silicon Allee events & activities
- Work closely with other startup / tech bloggers and press
- Maintain metrics about social media accounts

**Our Ideal Candidate:**

We’re looking for a social media expert with a love for content and a passion for the written word (especially puns!). If you are constantly reading, researching, tweeting, instagramming and devising ways to hack social media for more exposure and likes, we could use your skills. We are looking for an extrovert, willing to jump right into the crazy world of startups and document it! Design skills and a hands-on approach are a big plus.

Must have:

- 2+ years of experience working in PR, Communications, Content Marketing or Social Media
- Knowledge of best practices for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Experience in social media scheduling software (Buffer, Hootsuite, etc.)
- Ability to write clear and engaging content, short and long form
- Detailed oriented
- Flexible schedule
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent in English
