Sigma’s Design team is growing! We are seeking Senior UX Researcher to lead our research practice. This role reports to the VP of Product & Design.

The Senior UX Researcher will drive and conduct research that informs Sigma’s product mission: make BI and Analytics easy and accessible to everyone, regardless of technical abilities. Your research will influence product and business strategy. You will help drive company-wide common understanding of our users, their goals, needs and challenges. This is a hands-on role designed to support every team at Sigma with research findings and analysis to help us all make insight-driven decisions.

User research, psychology, ethnography, analytics and heuristics make you giddy. You have a deep understanding of research methods and best practices coupled with a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach to prioritizing and getting it all done at startup speed. By golly you’re curious and want to get at the heart of who and why - it propels you out of bed in the morning. Collaborating with designers, product managers, engineers, marketers, sales people and executives is firmly in your sweet spot.

*What You Will Be Doing*

- You will help identify and understand the questions we need to answer to move our product strategy and roadmap forward.
- Partner with product and engineering to prioritize research needs and questions that need to be answered.
- Conduct research including tactical UX research, strategic needs-finding research, and data exploration, depending on what would most help the company & the teams you’re working with, all in support of our customers’ needs and expectations.
- Develop a comprehensive set of user personas that can be referenced by product, design and engineering teams to make informed decisions about users needs and expectations.
- Synthesize insights and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Collect feedback and champion iterative refinements of the product until the usability and experience reach desired expectations.
- Assist the Analytics and Engineering teams in instrumenting Sigma’s product - define metrics and heuristics to measure and analyze product utilization and user behavior.

*The Experience You Bring*

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in psychology, cognitive science, Human Factors, HCI or HCD.
- 7+ years of proven success performing user research.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
- Mastery in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Exceptional data-collection and analysis skills.
- A portfolio that highlights your strengths and demonstrates the influence of UX research insights on product strategies.

*Highly Desirable Skills & Experiences*

- Experience in BI, Analytics or related spaces.
- Experience using BI or analytics tools to collect and analyze product utilization data.
