We are looking for a star Senior Product Manager to work with a growing startup in Shanghai. We are an American start-up company building a revolutionary connected cooking experience on top of our award-winning step-by-step cooking app. SideChef was named the favorite cooking app of the New York Times, Editor’s Choice by Google Play in 2017! The team is a seasoned bunch of movers and shakers, software developers, and fellow connoisseurs of food.

The successful candidate will analyze product data, identify new and improved product features, create detailed product requirements and work closely with Design, Engineering, QA, Content, User Acquisition and stakeholder teams to build and deliver the product. You will partner with stakeholders to gather product feedback, prioritize work and ensure alignment. You’ll develop products on the cutting edge of food content and smart kitchen IoT technology.

• Provide product ownership in driving user retention.
• Contribute to the product vision and roadmap.
• Elicit requirements from clients and end users and translate that into requirements for design and engineering teams.
• Write clear and concise user stories and requirements in English, prioritizing development items to align with the product roadmap.
• Maintain close relationships with technology to ensure that all requirements are clearly understood; adjusting details/scope as necessary.
• Own projects for our iOS and Android apps throughout the entire product lifecycle; including post-launch follow-ups regarding metrics and areas for improvement.
• Manage releases to ensure delivery, coordinating milestones across teams .
• Monitor product performance and proactively identify opportunities for product improvements.
• Identify opportunities for usability testing, focus groups, and other primary research and drive execution, measuring and report results.
• Identify risks, issues, and problems and escalate as appropriate, proposing mitigation plans to overcome obstacles.
• Proactively does competitive analysis, and leverages it as a way to influence their roadmap.
• Organize and lead training sessions on new features to internal teams.
• Stay knowledgeable about the ever-changing technology landscape, including social media, social networking, mobile/tablet devices, and smart kitchen.
• Establish hypothesis, test and validate through live ops.
• Leverage data analytics, A/B testing, push notifications and other partner tools to drive KPIs.
• Track performance on a daily basis, communicate daily KPIs and investigate unforeseen changes to KPIs.

• 5-10 years of relevant work experience in consumer mobile apps.
• Proven accomplishments in creating consumer products for both iOS and Android apps, with a strong understanding of platform constraints and capabilities.
• Proven accomplishments in driving user retention.
• Experienced with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis using SQL, Excel, dashboarding tools.
• Understanding of mobile app distribution.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and translate into actionable plans.
• Familiar with cooking, food consumption, and grocery shopping behavior of North American consumers.
• Fluent in English. Business level Chinese is strongly preferred.
• Experience with working in a startup environment.
• Work experience in North American consumer products industry is highly desirable.
