Our Story
SearchPaws is on a mission to simplify pet parenthood. We envision a future where all pet parents have affordable access to trustworthy, convenient and personalized advice from pet care professionals.

As pet parents ourselves, we know how difficult it is to juggle the demands of a full-time job and personal responsibilities, all while trying to be pet mind readers and rush home after work to take our dogs to the park. It is a job that has been long overlooked, and the current system simply isn’t working. We have struggled to find answers that work for us in the myriad of advice out there. Whether it be from online blogs and articles that are too high level or conflicting, social media posts from influencers and companies selling the best products, or the well-meaning pet parents at the dog park, the information overload is real and confusing.

We created SearchPaws to solve this and give pet parents access to advice directly from experts. No more high level, conflicting advice. No more booking full appointments with providers for those quick questions. No more guessing. We are a small, nimble team of pet parents and pet care experts dedicated to helping pet parents give dogs the life we know they deserve.

What this role is
This role is fundamental to the long term success of our mission. Your industry and clinical expertise will help us refine our veterinary offering to pet parents so we can best serve them. You will interact with pet parents every step of the way by leading weekly consults and focus groups, building out our veterinary content strategy, and helping us grow our veterinary offering in a scalable, efficient manner.

And on top of all that, you will dive head-first into a sea of future potential full of unimaginable growth opportunities. Ultimately, we are looking for a licensed veterinarian that wants to help shape the future of pet parenting in a fast paced, technology driven environment.

What you’ll do

1. Lead weekly video consults with pet parents
2. Define our veterinary content library, and both write and vet content
3. Engage with our online community of pet parents during scheduled Q&A events
4. Co-lead focus groups to gather product feedback

Location
Role is remote, but you must be licensed to practice in New York

Type
You decide how many hours you work. Veterinarian roles are designed for flexibility. The only requirement we have is a minimum 10 hour threshold a week

What we’re looking for

• Licensed veterinarian with 5+ years of experience across canine life stages (licensed to practice in New York)
• Licensed by the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association for 3+ years
• Experience in acupuncture (CHI) and chiropractic practices (ACVA certified) required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional demeanor. Candidate is able to quickly establish a trusting rapport with pet parents in our program
• Ability to lead pet parent consults and virtual group events
• Thrives in a fast paced environment, and is excited by the our long term vision
• Previous experience with startups is preferred, but not required
