Software Engineer - Distributed Database Reliability Engineering

Scalarでは、弊社独自の分散データベースプロダクトのCloud Native化をリードするSoftware Engineer - Database Database Reliability Engineeringを募集しています。

【業務内容】

• 弊社のプロダクト（Scalar DL/DB）の主要クラウドへのデプロイを簡易化する。また当該環境上でのオペレーションを簡易化・自動化する
• Scalar DL/DBの改良・拡張し、より高い可用性、スケーラビティ、安全性、耐障害性、高速性を実現する
• 本番環境の構築および障害対応のサポートおよび事後検証の実施

【必要なスキル・経験】

• コンピュータ・サイエンスの学士号またはコンピュータ・サイエンス（アルゴリズム、データ構造など）に関する十分な理解
• データベースシステム・分散システムに関する知識と経験
• インフラ構築とネットワークに関する高い知識と経験
• Kubernatesに関する高い知識と経験
• パブリッククラウド（AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud等）に関する高い知識と経験
• ソフトウェア開発サイクル（コーディング、レビュー、テスト）に関する経験と、それをすることが好きであること

【歓迎するスキル・経験】

• Javaに関する知識と経験
• パフォーマンス解析やトラブルシューティングに関する知識と経験
• Jepsen等を用いた実験的システム検証に関する知識や経験
• TLA+等を用いた形式検証に関する知識と経験

We’re looking for Software Engineer - Distributed Database SRE (Service Reliability Engineering) who makes our products (Scalar DL/DB) highly secure, highly available and highly scalable.

Responsibilities :

• Improve and enhance Scalar DL and DB to make it more scalable, available, secure, fault-tolerant, and speedy.
• Make Scalar DL and DB easily deployable and operatable in the major cloud providers.
• Respond to incidents and supporting postmortems

Requirements :

• A BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of computer science (algorithms, data structures etc.), acquired either in school or at work
• Strong Experience in database system and distributed system
• Strong Experience in infrastructure and networking
• Strong Experience in Kubernates
• Strong Experience in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud)
• Strong Experience in application development and its lifecycle
• Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
• You love to “engineer” the development cycle (e.g., writing, reviewing, testing)

Nice-to-Haves :

• Programming experience in Java
• Experience in performance analysis and/or performance optimizations
• Experience in empirical verification with Jepsen
• Experience in formal verification with TLA+
