Building the next generation of female technology innovators through toys

Building the next generation of female technology innovators through toys

Our first product, Roominate, is the DIY wired dollhouse building kit for girls aged 6 and up. We’ve taken an entirely new approach to toys and education, using enriching components to create an innovative and engaging play experience. With Roominate, we have designed a toy that builds confidence in technology and engineering, while being intuitive and fun.

Roominate:
- Builds hands-on problem solving and spatial skills
- Encourages confidence and intuition with circuits
- Combines creativity, engineering, and fun!

Our mission is to inspire the next generation of female technology innovators. Our love for engineering was influenced by the non-traditional girls toys we played with as kids. Alice’s dad gave her a saw instead of a Barbie when she was 8, and Bettina played with her brother’s hand-me-down building toys. Facing the huge gender imbalance in engineering, we set out to create solutions that would make our early experiences with engineering accessible and fun to all girls.
