The Public Events team at Roaming Hunger are experts at creating custom, scalable food and beverage solutions for organizers of festivals, sporting events, concerts, corporate campuses and anywhere else hungry crowds gather.

The Sr. Manager of Business Development, Public Events will research, prospect, and nurture new clients while leveraging existing relationships with our event organizer clients. We are looking for a collaborative, strategic, and encouraging leader who excels in sales and communication.

While a background in F&B concessions or large-scale event management is preferred, please note that this is NOT an on-site event production role. This is a SALES position and 98% of your work will be done from behind a desk at our office in West Hollywood.

What You’ll Do:

Business Development and Sales

- Initially, cut your teeth managing the sales and fulfillment process on smaller events to gain a deeper understanding of the way we do business.
- At 60 days, start closing larger-scale inbound leads independently and developing your own client list
- At 120 days, start identifying, prospecting and generating new leads with sales tactics including cold calling and emailing
- Deeply understand the needs of your prospective clients
- Manage a sales pipeline including: making first contact, qualifying leads, generating proposals, contract negotiations, and closing deals via phone or email
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all clients in your book
- Be on top of industry trends and business models to develop innovative programs for our clients while still keeping events profitable for our vendors
- Analyze past successes and failures to identify new opportunities
- Keep records of sales and data

Team Leadership

- Work with Public Events team members to develop and refine inside and outside sales tactics
- Collaborate with department Director on ways to achieve growth for all Public Events products

Who you are:

- You’ve done this before-- demonstrated success with real examples of how you crushed sales goals and contributed to the growth and excellence of an organization
- 3 - 5 years of combined biz dev, outbound sales and inbound sales experience
- Background in F&B concessions or large-scale event management preferred
- You’re willing to do the work — everyone at every level contributes by putting on a bib, rolling up their sleeves and getting dirty (the same way you would eat BBQ, basically)
- You’re motivated to grow-- this is a major growth opportunity for the right person-- you know what you’re capable of and just need the right chance to demonstrate it.
- You can play, but you can also coach-- Top notch coaching and facilitation abilities are a must as you’ll be helping our team develop new skills

- You are willing to be creative — We’re bootstrapped so when we say we’re scrappy, we’re actually scrappy. You’ll need to operate with profitability, not venture financing, in mind.
- You’re a sherpa, not just an expert-- You won’t just blast out links to articles, you’ll spend the time to teach us and take us up the mountain!
- Previous experience working in a startup environment a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting salary for this position is $50,000 base + competitive commission.
