About You
You have a passion to automate repetitive tasks and for deployments to go smoothly. You write code for any task you do more than once, and cringe at the thought of making changes to systems without making changes in the code. You proactively look for opportunities to replace manual, repetitive processes with maintainable, repeatable code and tools. You’ve are a dashboard wizard and know how to create effective dashboards.

Job Description
• Responsible for deployment, availability, reliability, and overall performance of the cloud infrastructure
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and proactively prevent recurrence of issues through design, testing and implementation of software-based solutions
• Ensure services are designed with 24/7 availability and operational readiness
• Implementation of proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and self-healing systems
• Design response plays for potential emergency situations and run drills with the team to minimize mitigation times

Requirements
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Systems
• 5+ years experience with POSIX based systems
• 3+ years experience in an Ops/DevOps/SRE or Software Engineering role
• Programming skills (Javascript, Python, Go, Java, and/or C)
• Experience working with databases and big data sets
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, etc)
• Strong interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing
• Ability to work across teams and across disciplines (Engineering, QA, Product Management, etc.)

Nice to have
• Experience with APMs (Datadog, New Relic, X-Ray, Stack Driver)
• Experience with microservices and service mesh
