As part of our outbound BD team, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with people and organizations who can serve as lead pipelines for Right Side Up to reach companies in need of marketing and eCommerce services. You will build this function at Right Side Up from scratch, developing the strategy, processes, and team.
Your mandate will be simple: find influencers and find ways to help them and the companies they have access to, with all Right Side Up resources at your disposal. You will be highly strategic, working primarily with CEOs and board members to help them make good decisions with respect to marketing, eCommerce, and hiring. You will also be highly tactical, figuring out how to best reach and persuade these decision makers. Once a relationship is established and a consulting opportunity arises, you will work with Right Side Up colleagues to close the deal.
What You’ll Do:
-Provide partners with best-in-class marketing and eCommerce insights and strategies
-Develop strategies, programs, and offerings to support investment firms and their portfolio companies
-Identify target partners/partnerships and find ways to connect with them
-Develop and then manage a pipeline of 100+ partners across various stages of engagement
-Represent Right Side Up with partners and at trade events, communicating our mission and vision while embodying our values
-Develop a plan to grow the business development function profitably
-Many years of experience as an in-house marketing leader at high growth companies, supported by venture capital and/or private equity
-Ability to distill complex challenges and ideas into structured frameworks and concrete plans
-A penchant for the details with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving startup environment
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Scrappy and eager hands-on approach to getting things done
-Bonus: Experience with business development, partnerships or sales
