What Is Ramen Hero?

Ramen Hero home delivers authentic Japanese ramen and makes it accessible to all Americans no matter where they live or who they are.

We are committed to spreading ramen love throughout the country. Years from now we will be known as the brand that made real ramen a permanent part of American culture.

We are a venture-backed company that is part of the AngelPad accelerator program. We introduced the first Honkaku (authentic) ramen meal kit to the US market.

About Our Technical Stack

Our online store is generated by Next.js and uses Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL). We selected Next.js + Shopify Storefront API for enhanced website performance and UX.

Also, we develop APIs using AWS Lambda function because we selected a serverless architecture for the back-end.

What Is This Position?

You will be our second full-time engineer and report to the lead software engineer.

This position requires someone who is motivated to create a great customer experience with cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop a variety of products, including our online store, logistics, and other new services
• Write scripts to analyze data and perform specific data queries
• Communicate with team members, external service providers, and other relevant parties
• Catch up on new technology and services and implement them into our services
• Take initiative - decide what you and the team should do and how to take action
• Consider how to improve our UX flows
• Take ownership of the services and work as a team to resolve bugs and other difficulties

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in back-end development
• 5+ years of experience in front-end development
• Familiarity with remote working
• Knowledge of GitHub
• Knowledge of agile development
• Ability and willingness to document technical solutions
• Familiarity with Asian food culture
• Native-level English ability
• Ability to come to our Vancouver office to have meetings once a week
