Rakuten Rewards is growing and transforming! We are rapidly building our Delivery Management organization to support the implementation of the company’s strategic objectives and improve delivery through strategic planning and execution. This function is there to partner with Engineering and Product Management to help us accelerate the building and delivery of our products into the market. We are also embarking on exciting initiatives to transform our technology stack and features to the latest and the greatest in the industry and need drivers who can help us accomplish our goals.

We operate the development and delivery of our Hotels business and Card Linked Offer Network from the San Diego office. The team in San Diego is a group of hard-working but fun-loving people who work together as an extended family and are invested in contributing to the vision of the company.

We are looking for a talented and technical Delivery Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position in San Diego and will report to our Director of Delivery Management.

Responsibilities

* Manage execution and delivery of key projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently.
* Matrix-manage a multidisciplinary team and work with stakeholders across Rakuten.com departments.
* Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process – prioritizing the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team.
* Work closely with Product Managers and the Engineering Team (Dev, QA, Devops, Release) in scrums to manage scope, priority, dependencies, project collaterals, escalations, and expectations.
* Perform project/program planning, including identifying and developing goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identifications of risks, contingency plans, milestones and delivery timelines to meet business needs.
* Facilitate meetings, remove impediments, and coordinate across multiple teams for critical path management and issue resolution.
* Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for release.
* Provide appropriate reports on team and project metrics via clear communications.
* Actively participate in standardization and making sure the team adopts and adheres to the processes and best practices set across multiple programs. 

Requirements

 

* 8+ years of relevant professional experience as a Scrum Master, Project Manager and/or Program Manager preferably in eCommerce companies
* Work experience managing large scale programs/projects from concept to completion
* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the team
* Understanding of all phases of the SDLC and expertise in Agile processes
* Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal)
* Experience working in JIRA, Project management and Confluence tools
* Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related area
* Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) a plus
