Rodrigo Mendoza-SmithThe Role
About Quine
At Quine we're building a platform to algorithmically quantify software engineering experience from code and open source metadata (you can read more about our thesis here 👈). We're a small interdisciplinary team who are obsessed about building the data and credentialing layer that will support the labour markets of the future. Quine is headquartered in London, but operates remotely from five different countries.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced VP of Product with a demonstrated talent for strategy, creativity, and execution. A user-first mindset has been at the centre of our products from the inception, and we are now ready to expand our Product team to accelerate our product vision and ensure our products continue to delight our users. We're working hard to extend the boundaries of what is currently technically possible, and so the ideal candidate is ambitious in both vision and scope, with a knack for the operating within the start-up ecosystem. Additionally, they will feel at home in a fast-paced environment where product decisions are taken swiftly.
Your responsibilities
> Apply product management best practices to identify creative and ambitious solutions for complex, ambiguous, and novel problems.
> Working closely with engineering, design, and business leadership to define our product vision in response to these problems, shaping and refining this vision through the incorporation of extensive user research.
> Leading product through lifecycle from inception to execution and delivery, integrating user feedback into product requirements, driving prioritisation and pre-/post-launch execution.
Basic Requirements
⇒ 5 years of experience in technical product management.
⇒ Desire to learn and deeply understand everything about the industries we are operating in (open source, developer tools, recruiting, and crypto).
⇒ Demonstrable success in developing and launching technical products to market.
⇒ Experience in talking to users, and synthesising user-research data into user stories and technically sound solutions.
⇒ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a precise knack for verbalising subjective problems in the design and UX space.
⇒ Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management and organisational skills.
⇒ A willingness not to be constrained by prior knowledge of an area or thinking about a certain problem - an open mind to unique and novel solutions and an analytical thought process is essential.
Nice to have
⇒ Background in Computer Science or Engineering.
⇒ Experience in the open source, developer tools, or crypto ecosystem.
