Working on the future of construction
Front End Engineer
Quartz is a funded early stage startup working on construction technology. Our system tracks and understands everything that moves on a construction site to make it safer and more efficient. The first product is a set of cameras that assist crane operators in doing their jobs and provide logistics information to site management. Then we will be building out a collection of distributed sensors to understand the rest of the site in real time.
Our customers are building sky scrapers, stadiums, and hospitals that make up the world we live in day to day. Join us in changing how construction is done, and help make it safer and more affordable for everyone.
We are seeking a product focused front end engineer to work closely with design and product to deliver digital products to complement our camera system. Ideal candidate will have delivered multiple web and/or mobile apps from scratch, and will have a solid understanding of usability, and will be able to give feedback to product to keep scope in check so we can deliver quickly.
We have a friendly work culture, and while we are seeking local candidates only, we are open to 1-2 work from home days per week. Work/life balance is important to us and offer unlimited PTO.
Our current web app uses react, material UI, and react contexts (instead of redux). There is no mobile app; when the time comes, our front end dev would be responsible for building a react native app from scratch. The website and mobile app are supported by an API supplied by a python/flask app.
- Experience with React and React Native
- Experience giving feedback to design and product
- Ability to break down and estimate feature requests (in points or time)
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Material UI
- Experience with new React Hooks API
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
