What we are looking for:
Pulse is looking for a seasoned iOS Engineer to help us create an exciting new digital product that will change how small businesses operate.

You will be an experienced engineer with solid skills in iOS development using Swift, and a real passion for delivering great experiences to real customers. You’ll want to move fast, but deliver great code using practices like TDD, pair programming, and CI/CD.


The ideal candidate:
We need someone motivated who can make an impact immediately.

You’re an experienced engineer, with a track record of working in teams delivering high quality code at pace.

You understand Swift intimately, with all the pros and cons and tradeoffs of different approaches to iOS development. Our apps are developed for iOS 12+ and we make heavy use of Cocoa patterns for our UI, but if you’ve got experience of other frameworks and styles that’s an advantage too.

You have solid experience with all aspects of app development, from consuming APIs to how to handle authentication and authorization securely while keeping users happy.

Your skills - both technical and in working with others - enable you to contribute positively whether you’re working alone or in a pair, and you enjoy working closely with other engineers.

You aspire to develop your skills in a fast-moving startup environment where you’ll be able to improve your skills and gain valuable experience.

Responsibilities
Work with your team-mates to produce solid, effective code that brings the product to life.
Develop code on iOS using Swift

Build out our apps, working closely with engineers-in-test, emphasising quality and speed of delivery through CI/CD
Work with our product and Data Science teams to understand our customer, and use your experience to help mould the app to better fit their needs.
Demonstrate quality engineering practices - eg Test Driven Development, CI/CD.
Thrive in an agile environment; participate in our teams and culture to help make Pulse a great place to work.

Requirements
Share our passion for helping every small business succeed
Comfortable in pre-product market fit stage
Demonstrable experience in some of Swift, iOS, APIs, AWS, Serverless, NodeJS
Ability to work with team mates collaboratively to produce the best designs and solutions to problems.
Desire to up-skill and grow as an engineer, with a hands-on approach
A degree in a CS-literate subject is an advantage but not a prerequisite; we’ll consider applicants who can demonstrate deep understanding, regardless of where they gained it.
Previous experience in Fintech or Saas and knowledge of banking and accounting would be beneficial but not essential
