Senior Management Accountant


The purpose of this role is to lead developing the Company’s reporting framework (forecasting and performance tracking) for a growing business for the following stakeholders:

Board Directors

Executive Management Team

Regional Management Teams

Sales Commission target setting and reporting

This role will report to the CFO and be based in our Sydney office in Chippendale.


As Senior Management Accountant, your duties and responsibilities can be varied depending on the organisation, however they may include, but are not limited to:

Preparation of monthly management reports tracking financial performance against budget

Providing commentary on management reports

Liaising with the strategy and product teams to build KPI driven revenue forecasting and tracking of actuals vs forecast.

Variance Analysis around actual results compared to the budget and forecasts for each revenue line and cost centre.

Play a lead role in compiling the annual budget with senior management

Analysing trends and financial performance across business units

Supervising and training junior staff

Taking part in systems' and process improvement initiatives, especially in the improvement of visibility into revenue growth insights.


Experience with forecasting and budgeting

Ability to analyse complex reports

Ability to be “hands-on” at a very detailed level however create meaningful insights for stakeholders from that information.

Ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts to non-finance staff

Organised and structured in daily duties

Team player and ability to establish strong relationships

Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant standards

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate business partnering

Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Google Sheets, Excel and Xero


Proven experience as a management accountant, preferably in Start-up/fast growth environments

Professional Accounting qualification such as CPA or CA, with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.
