A bit about us…
We run a network of media and entertainment screens in rideshare vehicles that provides curated content, advertising, and mobile commerce opportunities to a captive audience in a highly personalized way. By collecting historic ride data, usage patterns and location-based data, our mobile platform profiles riders, anticipates their needs and ultimately guides them to action with appropriate incentives.

We recently graduated from Techstars (Comcast NBCUniversal Lift Labs Accelerator) and was recently named “Canada’s Most Promising Startup” at the NACO World Investment Summit.

What we’re looking for…
We are looking for a creative, curious and confident Driver Operations Specialist. This person should be excited about working with our driver-partners on a daily basis to help us shape the future of content, media and entertainment in Uber and Lyft vehicles.

About the role…
At portl media, the Operations team is the heart and soul of the business. Your role will be to focus on growing our existing list of drivers and to ensure existing driver-partners remain satisfied. We are looking for someone with a combination of creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail and social know-how.

This role will grow into a City Manager.

- Bring passion, enthusiasm, energy, humour, and the ability to convey this through phone and email communications
- Have previous successful sales & customer relationship management experience
- Have ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
- Have the desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals
- Have a willingness to learn and adapt
- Have ability to deal with objections

What your day-to-day looks like…
- Connect with driver partners by reaching out through a mixture of cold calling, personalized email campaigns & social networking
- Develop & optimize new and existing processes: You will come up with creative ways to increase our driver network. Whether it be prospecting, driver onboarding, training, etc. you’ll be in charge of fueling growth and driving efficiency
- Work alongside our team to strategize and prospect new driver leads
- Engage in qualification phone calls with drivers to identify how Portl can benefit them and their riders
- Generate a strong pipeline of sales qualified leads (drivers) and accepted opportunities to support Portl’s goals (install tablets)
- Communicate Portl’s diverse value proposition in order to effectively attract qualified drivers (calling drivers)
- Create new and update existing records within Portl’s CRM (Hubspot)
- Reporting on challenges, successes, and progress against plan

What You’ll Need…
- At least 1 year of experience in an operational, analytical, or business development based capacity
Excellent communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and easily adapt to a constantly changing work environment
- Willingness to be proactive and in contact with our driver partners on an ongoing basis
- Hands-on and eager to implement operational plans in your own city (Toronto)
- A creative mindset and enjoy putting in place initiatives to solve practical issues
- Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through analytical thinking
- Aid in building out the Portl driver benefits package
- Fluency in another language is a benefit
