Role Description

---------

We’re looking for a Product Lead/Head of Product to shape our product vision, and work hands-on with our team to build a product with incomparable UX for our personas. 

Reporting to the CEO, we expect you to quickly build an unparalleled strategic understanding of this fast changing market, and help us narrowly define our proposition and audience. 

You will build and lead a world class team of technical and non-technical individuals to shape our app based on data. We expect you to have the rare gift of being incredibly strategic but also a world class executor with technical prowess.  

This is a rare opportunity to join a rapidly growing fintech at the senior level, and apply strategic thinking, analytical rigour, creativity and experimentation to build a product with strong social impact on the fastest growing segment of the workforce. You will be at the heart of our organisation, and your work will be critical in getting us to series B and beyond.

Responsibilities

* Make sure we are always one step ahead of our users, and delighting them. Work closely with our users to understand and anticipate their pains and translate these into product. 

* Position our product to play in the right space. Be on the constant look out for changes in market dynamics, become the go-to person on the team to understand consumer fintech trends. 

* Keep us disciplined and evidence based. Make sure are focused on the right data, user feedback, and research. 

* Be the binding factor between cross functional teams. Work fluently between technical and non-technical teams, and put in processes to ensure we work together effectively. 

* Build and lead a world class product team. Tap into your network + attract the best talent to build a dream team that complements your weaknesses and accentuates your strengths.

What qualities are we looking for?

---------

* An inspirational leader with exceptional communication skills. The ability to clearly articulate the product vision and strategy and adapt your style to each individual and team.

* At least 3 years of experience in a product management role, and ideally an additional few years of experience in an analytical/technical role. 

* An evangelist for users, and a natural ability when it comes to user research. You combine data, in person interviews, surveys, empathy and intuition to get the best possible outcome for our product.

* Excellent problem solving abilities. You live to simplify complex problems and remove roadblocks that impact our ability to build a great product.

* Experience working closely with the engineering team to define user stories and the functional requirements of the product.

* Creativity and grit. An understanding that product innovation is a never ending process. Itchy product feet. 

* A track record of attracting a-class talent, and the gift of bringing out the best from the people that work with you in a fast-paced environment. 

* Exceptionally high ambition.This role might even be a stepping stone for you to pursue your own entrepreneurial dreams one day.

* You’ve understood the strengths and weaknesses of our team and product development process, and made tangible improvements to our productivity by implementing your best practice

* You’ve narrowly defined our product value proposition and positioning, and helped us play to our strengths as a business, execute on our roadmap, and see a significant improvement in user feedback and app metrics 

* You’ve hired a world class product team around you (technical and non-technical), and got them to perform at their very best

* You’ve helped us define our product roadmap for the next six months based on our northstar objectives, while contributing your unique perspective
