We're looking for computer vision researchers who want to push the state of the art forward on the future of 3D SLAM on mobile devices. We're building a 3D reconstruction and re-localization stack that has never been attempted before on mobile devices and we've partnered with industry leading companies in several heavy industries like construction, industrial inspection and property management to do it.

Your role will focus on 3D reconstruction and will require a specialization in one or more of the following areas:

SLAM and Visual Inertial Odometry: Design and implement advanced algorithms for visual mapping, tracking and 6DOF pose estimation in indoor or outdoor environments using cameras, IMU and other sensor data available on mobile devices. Leverage cloud infrastructure to offload processing away from the device while satisfying speed constraints.

Re-localization: Build state-of-art feature extraction and re-localization algorithms using features like ORB, BRISK, SIFT etc. or deep learning approaches like PoseNet. Focus on designing robust re-localization systems that bring us closer to our goals of viewpoint, scale and lighting invariance.

Dense Mapping: Design and experiment with algorithms for reconstructing dense 3D models of the environment using monocular cameras and depth sensors on mobile devices. Implement algorithms on mobile devices (iOS) as well as on cloud infrastructure.

3D Scene Understanding: Design and implement 3D scene segmentation algorithms to intelligently extract data like objects locations, planes and edges from 3D meshes using a mix of geometric and deep learning approaches.


QUALIFICATIONS

- Hands on experience with visual odometry, mapping, and slam
- Proficiency with probabilistic inference and 3d geometry
- Demonstrated ability to push the state of the art forward
- High proficiency in C++
- Experience working with OpenCV and OpenGL
- Knowledge of parallel computing, OpenCL, GPGPU
- Mobile Platform Software Engineering (IOS Metal, Android NDK) is a bonus


EDUCATION

M.S or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics or Deep Learning with a research background in computer vision is preferred.
