The Head of Marketing will be responsible for honing the company’s marketing strategy and leveraging his or her skills to generate demand and establish marketing processes.
Phrase Health is an early-stage health IT company providing analytics software to hospitals to improve their electronic health record (EHR) systems so they can provide better care to patients and better experiences for clinicians. Phrase benefited from significant traction from early adopters, but is now at a phase of growth in which the company requires someone to sustain our marketing efforts instead of the more ad hoc approach we’ve been constrained to.
The role is built for someone who has had exposure to several dimensions of B2B marketing (content development, social execution, lead gen, top of funnel management, etc.) and is now interested in pulling those skills together. The role separates “people with marketing experience” from true, well-rounded marketers. On any given morning, you might find yourself deep in thought developing the three month vision that you’ll share with leadership the following week. Later in the day, you could find yourself doing deep analysis in Google Analytics understanding how leads are interacting with our website. You need to be a thinker and a doer.
Management experience isn’t required, although you might already have it. However, the person who is interested in this role is likely ready to start building a team beneath him or her. There would be an immediate opportunity to manage and mentor interns with the expectation that more employees will be added to the marketing team within a year or so.

- B2B Marketing
- Articulation of customer needs
- Data-focused e.g. conducts Excel analysis to analyze campaign performance
- Campaign execution experience across social, display, search, content, etc.
- Pipeline growth and grooming
- Collaboration across sales, design, and engineering
- Demonstrated ability to ideate and create thought capital
Nice to haves
- Experience at a health system or marketing to health systems
- SaaS experience
- Enterprise (i.e. several internal stakeholders) B2B
