Phoenix Launch Systems is looking for a new Vice-President of Operations. We recently entered into agreement with MOU for provision and support of launch service ground segment communications (more details to come soon). We are also negotiating an agreement with a partner for the design, buildout and operational support of the remaining launch infrastructure. Phoenix is also about to sign up our first launch customer pending final negotiations. Later this year, we plan to consolidate in a new facility at or near Kennedy Space Center so we can move into the manufacturing phase. Finally, there is NASA’s Venture Class Demo 2 acquisition for nanosatellite launch services which many companies in our industry niche are looking at.

Currently, we want to add a new VP Ops to our team to work with our CEO to develop and implement the planning required to complete the processes described above. Specifically, this will involve planning and executing our relocation to Florida and standing up the team there. This will include being heavily involved in the buildout of our facility and launch infrastructure and coordinating the workforce. The second main area of focus is on the creation of proposals and contracts with new launch customers, both government and civilian.

We are looking for someone with prior aerospace and/or defense industry experience, whether in the private sector or e.g. NASA. This is a Founder-Level equity position to start. We are currently working toward our next funding round and the VP of Operations will be heavily involved in that process. As such, compensation will be in the form of substantial equity to start with the commitment to salary compensation upon closing of the funding round. We anticipate this process to take 2-3 months to coincide with the high-growth period we will be entering.

The Vice President of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems. We are seeking an individual with corporate-level experience and a desire to be part of a team creating a next generation “green” low-cost space launch company. The individual will play an essential role developing strategy and plans as we expand our team, relocate to new facilities and seek our next series of investment funding to position the company for future growth. Performance in this role is critical during and beyond the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. The VP Operations will receive equity as a performance incentive and provide the individual with a stake in the company’s success. Salaried compensation will be put in place upon closing our next funding round and is open to negotiation with the specific applicant.
