Pepper is a team of builders on a mission to design a better way for restaurants and suppliers to work together. We’re here to drive positive change around how restaurants manage their back-of-house operations and optimize for greater transparency, time-saving efficiencies, and tighter-knit relationships across the entire restaurant supply chain end-to-end.

Our mobile app offers chefs and restaurant operators a virtual purchasing solution for their day-to-day supply challenges. It’s a single place to order ingredients and inventory, track deliveries, organize invoices, and manage relationships with suppliers - all completely free for restaurants to use.

On the supplier side, our technology streamlines workflow for incoming orders and gives vendors the ability to receive orders in a clear and consistent format for every purchase. With hours saved each week on order processing times and few delivery mistakes made across the board, suppliers who use Pepper leverage a unique opportunity to grow their customer base by offering restaurants a first-class ordering experience they’ll love.

As a new and fast-growing startup based in NYC, we’re looking for scrappy, high-energy self-starters to join our team of experienced hospitality, food, and tech entrepreneurs. If you’re passionate about digital transformation in the food industry and eager to hit the ground running at an early-stage company with big ambitions, then we’d love to hear from you.

Who we hope you are:

Our team is looking for high-energy Account Executives to help us build a powerhouse salesforce by being the face and voice of our product to our potential restaurant partners as we scale. While no two days here are ever the same, Account Executives at Pepper should be fired up to:

>> Evangelize Pepper: Get the word out far and wide about the solution and benefits our product offers to restaurants and suppliers, using email, phone, in-person meetings, and all the creative means possible to raise awareness.

>> Close Business Smartly: Bring new restaurants onto our platform consistently using a thoughtful and responsible sales approach. Although we move quickly here at Pepper, we always put our customers before our targets and prioritize offering restaurants a solution that meets their unique set of needs. Our relationship with restaurants does not end once the deal is signed - we have our restaurant partners’ backs in perpetuity.

>> Develop Industry Expertise: Become a whiz on the restaurant industry and what it takes for both front and back-of-house restaurant operations to function well. We don’t expect our AEs to be experts on day one, but enthusiasm for authentically understanding and building connections within the restaurant community is a necessary for success.

>> Build & Improve Processes: Share feedback and observations from the field with our management team to improve our business approach and inform our ongoing strategy

Must-haves for this role:

>> At least two years of sales experience, preferably in the hospitality or technology space (internships count!)

>> Sharp communication and organizational skills with high emotional intelligence and business sense

>> Evidence of strong prior performance in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

>> Grit, tenacity, and adaptability. Successful AEs at Pepper have an innate drive to exceed targets and an ability to roll with the changes that come with being at one of the fastest growing startups in NYC

>> Experience working with CRM (bonus points for Salesforce)

>> A Bachelor’s degree
