PeerStreet, a well-funded startup based in Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced and forward thinking DevOps engineer to help build the future of real estate finance.

We are entering our next phase of significant growth and are looking for top engineers to play an integral role in helping us execute on our goals. If you want to make a huge impact on a very visible commercial product and transform a massive industry, PeerStreet is the place for you.

More specifically, you would be facilitating innovation by simplifying developer workflows and designing cutting edge infrastructure and tools using Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.

Our tech stack includes Rails, Ruby, Vue, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS managed services, Terraform, Codefresh, and more. We are looking for people with a solid technical understanding in these areas and languages. We offer a competitive salary, equity, and an awesome team.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop monitoring and alerting systems utilizing modern best practices
Design self-healing infrastructure
Debug intricate production issues
Develop tools for usage by development and QA teams
Establish triage and incident response processes
Improve service reliability through testing, root cause analysis, and postmortems
Solve availability, reliability, and latency issues across the stack
Participate in 24x7 On-Call rotation

Requirements:
3+ years of DevOps/SRE experience
Experience maintaining production Kubernetes cluster(s)
Experience with logging and monitoring tools (SumoLogic, SignalFX, DataDog, Splunk) and designing alerting systems
Solid experience with administration of various AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, IAM, and more)
Prior experience with CI/CD and associated toolsets (Circle, Jenkins, Codefresh, etc)
Strong grasp of deployment automation and configuration management on AWS (Terraform preferred)
Solid understanding of systems and application design
Skilled at clearly articulating design ideas while being receptive to constructive criticism
Never ending desire to learn and improve
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (H1B transfers okay)


Bonus Points:
Excellence in multiple technology disciplines (eg: Technical Operations, Backend Development)
Good knowledge of relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Contribution to Open Source
Burning desire to use technology to eliminate inefficiencies in the financial markets
